Dragomir Sundać, PhD. is a Tenured (Full) Professor and Scientific Advisor. He has been working at the Faculty of Economics in Rijeka, University of Rijeka (the Republic of Croatia) for the past 34 years.

He is the Head of Theoretical Economics Department and he teaches the following courses:

- Principles of Economics,

- Managerial Economics,

- Business Environment,

- Knowledge Economy,

- Philosophy and Development of Economic Sciences.


He was the youngest postgraduate student to receive both M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees, as well as the youngest Tenured Professor and a Scientific Adviser at his time.

Besides teaching and research activities he held following positions: the Vice Dean for Scientific Work, the Head of the Council of the Faculty, the Head of the Department of Management Studies (M.Sc. degree) and the President of the Institute for Economics and Organisation. He was a founder and the Head of the first Business School of Rijeka – “Methods and techniques of management” – at the Faculty of Economics Rijeka.

He is also a Visiting Professor at many Business Schools and Universities abroad (such as the Florida Atlantic University in the USA).


He has published over 190 scientific and expert works, as well as many books, in the field of Economics. Among the books, the most prominent ones are:

He is an author of several software programs that are used in business schools and in business practice, and a unique measurement system for the control of business efficacy and production of competitive advantages through Intellectual Capital.


In the field of Economic Analysis, he elaborated original scientific models that are used in practice and which increase capital effectiveness. With his papers and reports, he has participated at many conferences, symposiums and large business systems in Croatia and abroad. Furthermore, he was a leader of a large number of scientific projects of national interest.


He has received many awards. Among the most prominent ones is a Prize given by the City of Rijeka (Croatia) for distinctive contribution to the development of Economics through theory and practice.

Prof. Sundać has also proven to be a very successful businessman. For the past 19 years, he has been the President of the Board of International Business Consulting Center (IBCC), a registered consulting house (DACON No. 360) of the World Bank Group (which includes IBRD, IFC, IDA and MIGA) and the Inter-American Development Bank.

As well, Prof. Dragomir Sundać holds a position of the President of the Consultants’ Assembly, by Croatian Chamber of Commerce in Primorsko-Goranska County.

He is a member of the Royal Economic Society, one of the oldest and most prestigious economic associations in the world, as well as a member of several Business clubs and Consultants’ associations in Croatia and abroad.
